An Post Christmas Box – Terms and Conditions
The An Post Christmas box comprises the following:
- An Post parcel box
- Contents (described below)
- Postage and delivery in accordance with the rates / zones set out below.
On completion of your order, the An Post Christmas box will be sent directly to the recipient you have chosen and provided delivery details for.An Post will not hand over a Christmas Box to the purchaser.
Shipping will commence within
5 days of completion of your order.
You may cancel your order within
3 days by notifying An Post of your decision to cancel this contract by an unequivocal statement such as an e-mail to
christmasbox@anpost.ie before the 5 day cancellation period has expired.
The contents of the Christmas Box are of a type that are liable to deteriorate.
Once your Christmas Box has entered the postal network for transmission by postage, it may not be retrieved. (This reflects the framework of postal rules which An Post operates within, including for international mailings to other postal operators.)

Reasonable substitutions may be made with another item of similar type and value in the event any of the above products are out of stock or unavailable.

Because of the time of year, there may be delays in international postal systems. The target delivery time is 5 days after posting nationally and up to 14 working days for sending boxes overseas.
To avoid delays and disappointment, it is strongly advised to send items well in advance of Christmas. The last date of posting for the above zones will be:
National Monday 16

UK & Europe Monday 16

An Post can suspend the sale of the Christmas Box for as long as necessary:
- To deal with technical problems;
- In response to events outside of our control, e.g., delays in delivery overseas destinations; or
- To make changes to the product or service which are either reasonably necessary for technical, legal or regulatory reasons or because of events outside of our control.
Liability of An Post –Exclusions/ Limitations
If we fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is caused by and which is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence. Evidence of loss or damage will be required.
An Post is
not responsible for losses you suffer if the loss if is:
- not foreseeable. not an obvious consequence of our breach or if it was anticipated by you and us at the time we entered into the agreement for the service
- Unexpected. It was not obvious that it would happen
- not as a result of our breach or caused by your failure to comply with any of these Terms and Conditions;
- Caused by a delay or an event outside our control.
- Avoidable. Something you could have avoided by taking reasonable action. For example, by not sending an item after the last date of posting;
- A business loss. if it relates to your use of a service or a product for the purposes of your trade, business, or profession, for example, loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
The An Post
Shop Terms and Conditions at An Post shall otherwise apply but these Christmas Box terms and conditions will prevail in case of any conflict.
