‘I was delighted to get the stamp commissions from An Post to honour the RNLI. I knew from the start that the florescent orange contrasting with the sea green would form the colour palette. I’m always very inspired by film, so coming up with interesting points of view as if I were holding a camera defined the compositions and reflected the drama of rescues. The technique is scraperboard, an engraving technique which is then coloured digitally.’
