Tenth Definitive Stamp Series - 'Art on a Stamp' - Phase II

On September 14, we launch Phase II of the 10th Definitive Stamp Series, with the special theme of ‘Art on a Stamp’.

Issued to mark a century of stamp designs, this series is one not to be missed. It will feature a number of iconic stamps issued over the decades showcasing works from among the best artists and designers.

A wide variety of topics feature, including the centenary of Catholic Emancipation in 1929 and,in 1971, the centenary of the birth of John Millington Synge.

Irish playwrights, with a portrait of Brian Friel, feature on a stamp from 2009 while one celebrating Irish fashion designers issued the following year, highlighting Paul Costello and Louise Kennedy.
