Business Systems Manager - An Post Commerce

Role Purpose

An Post Commerce is undertaking a transformation programme aimed at improving, sustaining and growing our operational platform. We are looking for a structured and innovative Business Systems Manager who will be responsible for determining the current and future road map of required technical solutions and support for the An Post Commerce team. Reporting to the Head of Planning and working as part of a multi-disciplined team, you will focus on both immediate needs and future solutions, working to understand your key stakeholders, the An Post Commerce senior team. You will work closely with the Performance Manager to determine how business solutions fit in to intelligent data outputs, ensuring that the processes, procedures, systems and structures that result enable An Post to achieve its stated business outcomes.

Responsibilities

The principal responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading out for An Post Commerce on all technological current infrastructure and determining a road map for future solutions.

  • Building a hard-working team to leverage data and design analytics to support the drive for operational efficiency.

  • Creating and maintaining a programme of business technological insights and a strategy that aligns to our operating plan.

  • Collaborating with department heads to resolve their technology needs.

  • Creating a schedule of hardware and software requirements and schedules.

  • Maintaining effective relationships with other departments to ensure alignment on business needs and wider technical programmes with the Group Technology Services (GTS) team. 

  • Monitoring current systems and identifying improvement paths or end of life and phase out.

  • Researching business technologies and IT software to strengthen the organisation's computer systems.

  • Working closely with the Performance Manager to ensure solutions and analytics align.

  • Demonstrating An Post values and behaviours in your day to day work and addressing behaviour that supports/ conflicts with them.

Knowledge & Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelors or Graduate Degree in Information Technology and/or demonstrate strong relevant experience preferably within an operational environment. You will have at least 5 years’ experience in technical programme management along with knowledge of Business Intelligence tools, cloud based technology and Oracle Analytics.
 
You will possess analytical rigour, strong business judgement and decision-making skills and will be able to demonstrate a consistent track record of achievement with evidently growing levels of responsibility. You are proficient with running budgets, business case development, and supply chain leadership exercises. Prior consulting experience and Six Sigma training is also desirable
 
Results-focused and highly motivated, you are a self-starter with a strong strategic outlook who consistently strives for continuous improvement. You develop productive working relationships with relevant collaborators and influence effectively across all levels across the organisation. Exceptional stakeholder management abilities are also essential for this role.
 
Your organisational abilities will enable you to consistently deliver quality outputs to tight deadlines while balancing multiple assignments simultaneously. Experience in successfully leading change in a large business environment is desirable.
 
This position will require travel on a periodic basis. A full, clean driving licence and regular access to the use of a car are required.
