The Making Better Happen Awards are a nationwide initiative celebrating local communities and environmental groups creating positive change across Ireland. The awards recognise people and projects making better happen every day from protecting biodiversity, reducing waste and driving circular economy solutions in their communities.
Created to spotlight and champion grassroots action, the awards provide both funding and national recognition to help initiatives grow, thrive, and continue making a difference where it matters most.
Community groups, organisations, and local initiatives are invited to enter across;
Three Key Areas:
- Waste
- Circular Economy
- Biodiversity
What's Involved
Groups entering the Making Better Happen Awards are asked to create a short video under 60 seconds, filmed vertically, highlighting their community project/initiative. These videos will be shared on our website and social media and the public will vote for the best initiative. The competition is divided into provinces and the top performing group from each province will progress to the final. One of the four finalists will be crowned the winner of the Making Better Happen Awards.Prize
The provincial winners will receive €1,500 eachThe overall national winner will receive an additional €5,000
Deadline
