AN POST ASKS CUSTOMERS NOT TO POST UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

6 November 2005

An Post has accepted the National Implementation Body’s proposal to facilitate clarification of the implications and costs of a number of amendments to Labour Court recommendations 18260/1 proposed by the Communications Workers’ Union.

The proposal fully preserves the integrity of the Labour Court proposals issued in July of this year.

In light of the fact that industrial action has not yet been called off by the CWU, and the resulting uncertainty surrounding postal services, An Post regrets to advise customers not to post any mail in any part of the country until further notice. This applies to all mail for local, national and international distribution.

An Post is conscious of the serious inconvenience caused by this disruption and deeply regrets that it is being prevented from providing normal service until further notice.
