International figures confirm ComReg results
An Post welcomes the release of the latest ComReg quality monitor. The figures released today cover Quarter 1 of 2007 and show a significant improvement in next-day-delivery up 4% to 78%.
“These results confirm the steady improvement we have seen in our internal quality measures and it is all the more satisfying given the increased volume of mail we handled during this period” said Donal Connell, Chief Executive of An Post “They also confirm the results issued recently by the International Postal Corporation (IPC) on international mail and also acknowledged by Royal Mail”.
A recent study by the IPC showed that in the first quarter of 2007, An Post achieved a 5% improvement on last year’s rate of next-day delivery for incoming international mail. Royal Mail, at a recent postal conference acknowledged significant improvement in An Post’s service performance into the UK.
“We will continue to drive mail service performance and we are fully committed to reaching our target of 80% next-day delivery this year and to achieving ComReg’s target of 94% within 3 years“ concluded Mr Connell.
