An Post Sean Kelly team re-sign Irish riders for 2010
27 November 2009
The Irish quartet of Páidi O’Brien, Mark Cassidy, Ronan McLaughlin and David O’Loughlin, will be joined by Matt Brammeier, who has declared for Ireland having previously raced for Britain. The 24-year-old will also compete on the track for the country and with a strong performance on his recent debut for Ireland, finishing fourth in the scratch race at the Manchester World Cup.
The 2008 FBD Ras Winner, Stephen Gallagher from Armagh has opted not to rejoin the team due to personal reasons. An Post and the team would like to thank Stephen for all of his effort and dedication over the past few years and wish him the best of luck for the future.
FBD Ras stage winner Niko Eeckhout, who won six races for the team in 2009, will remain with the team for at least one more season with the rest of the team selection outside of the Irish riders and Eeckhout to be confirmed. The An Post Sean Kelly team will have a training camp from the 14th to 21st of December in Calpe, Spain and manager Kurt Bogaerts will confirm his full team for the 2010 season in the New Year.
“We are delighted to have resigned the four Irish guys and now have a fifth from Ireland with Brammeier declaring for the country,” Bogaerts said.
“We have a training camp in Spain in December and again in January as well, and we will confirm the full team after this,” Bogaerts said. “We hope to make a few more additions to the team and will know more in the New Year.”
