23 April 2007
An Post won the business following a pitch involving a number of UK and international carriers and under the new deal, customers’ orders will be processed directly through An Post’s main parcel hub in Portlaoise.
An Post Sales and Marketing Director, Liam Sheehan says that this is important new business for An Post: “It’s utilising our unique nationwide reach and 3,000-strong fleet. Catalogue and e fulfilment are strong growth areas for An Post and improvements in delivery performance help our customers to sell more. We’re supporting this growth with a vigorous quality enhancement programme and ongoing investment in the road fleet.
“This is a prime example of how An Post provides fully integrated solutions comprising Direct Marketing, payment, delivery and returns management to major customers like Oxendales,” he concluded.
Oxendales expect to post more than 500,000 parcels through An Post over the coming year. “We look forward to developing our business links with An Post. This deal is in line with our business philosophy of ensuring end-to-end service quality to our customers” said Ronnie Coffey, Managing Director, Oxendales
