An Post welcomes Welfare finding

This business contract, under which €7 billion is paid out annually in social welfare benefits on behalf of the State, is the backbone of the Post Office retail network. Its scale and diversity enables An Post to provide social welfare benefit customers with a uniform standard of trusted, personal, face-to-face service, and to make a range of additional facilities available to them free-of-charge, including BillPay, Household Budgeting and savings services.
An Post pays Social Welfare benefits to about 900,000 customers every week, on behalf of the State. Payments are made using cutting-edge counter technology which was purpose-designed by An Post and subsequently adopted by post office networks all over the world.
