Daffodil Stamp marks Irish Cancer Society 50th Anniversary

21 March 2013

John McCormack, CEO, Irish Cancer Society, said that it was a special day for the Irish Cancer Society with the launch of An Post’s commemorative stamp to mark 50 years of the Society providing care and support to those with and affected by cancer.

“We are proud to reveal the daffodil stamp today and look forward to see it adorning envelopes in homes across the country. Indeed, it is fitting that the stamp is being launched in time for Daffodil Day, the flagship fundraising day of the Society and our largest fundraiser ensuring that our free, nationwide services are available to those with cancer in Ireland.

“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our thousands of volunteers nationwide who today are battling the elements to fundraise for the Society and to the Irish public, for their loyal support over the years. Without them, we could not take care of the people in this country who have cancer,” he concluded.

Note:  The ‘N’ denomination covers postage up to 100g across the island of Ireland and means that the stamp can be used after April 2nd when the current 55c rate increases to 60c.
