Lá Féile Pádraig

21 February 2008

It is believed that while captive in Ireland he toiled as a shepherd and first dreamt of converting the Irish to Christianity.

The stamp, designed by Ger Garland, celebrates Ireland’s Patron Saint who was a Christian missionary during the second half of the fifth century.

The St. Patrick’s Day stamp is available from the Philatelic shop in the GPO, Dublin (Tel: 01-7057400), at selected post offices nationwide and online at  www.irishstamps.ie.
