Mails quality of service performance
26 August 2011
The trend in this measure of An Post’s performance has been consistently positive over the last five years. The reconfiguration of a number of our largest delivery units in Dublin temporarily impacted on service levels during the second quarter. Other factors included the changeover to new generation mails processing technology.
An Post is investing €40m from its own resources, without recourse to borrowing, in the world’s most advanced postal processing technology at its Dublin and Portlaoise hubs. These projects will further improve and sustain the quality of the Company’s mails collection, processing and delivery service into the future.
“This is one of the biggest capital projects undertaken by An Post in 15 years” said An Post Mails Operations Director, Liam O’Sullivan. “We’ll continue installing new machinery and software this year and into 2012. Our quality of service for despatching and delivering international mail continues to exceed targets and our domestic standards are showing sustained improvement each year. The investment we are making will further improve the quality and range of all our mails services,” he added.
