Minister Puts Out A Call to Licence Holders

Speaking at the launch, Minister Ahern said he was pleased that customers now have such a wide variety of payment options available to them.

“This new Lo Call facility – 1890 228 528 is a quick and easy way for customers to buy or renew their TV Licence and An Post’s new call centre expects to handle about 10 per cent of licence sales this year, he said.

“With so many payment options available, there really is no excuse for not having a TV Licence for your home or business,” he added.

The new facility is capable of handling more than 300 transactions simultaneously and is currently handling a deluge of calls from businesses recently targeted by a direct mail campaign.

As well as businesses, all unlicensed households will receive a reminder letter by the end of September when 100 TV Licence inspectors will begin a street-by-street inspection campaign across the country.
