Open for business in Carlingford
26 May 2015
Carlingford’s post office has just moved to a new location at Valentines XL Store in Newry Street. The new office was formally ‘switched in’ to the national post office network this week linking it to 1134 other post offices throughout the country.
Postmaster John O’Hanlon has overseen the installation of a state of the art counter which is one of the first of its kind in Ireland. The counter includes a number of features which make it more usable for all customers especially the mobility impaired. The counter was designed by An Post for use in all its offices in conjunction with the Irish Wheelchair Association.
Carlingford is one of a number of renovation and relocation projects undertaken by An Post nationwide including offices in Carrigaline Co. Cork, McCurtain Street in Cork City and the opening of a new post office in Lucan, Co. Dublin.
The Louth office is open six days a week, including until 1pm on Saturday and contact phone number (042-9373171) remains the same. Customers can do a wide range of business at the new office including PostFX currency cards, Passport Express, State savings and Investments, stamps and mail and AIB banking services.
