Primary School Children Show the Way in Healthy Eating and Exercise at An Post Education Awards

Schools nationwide received workbooks and posters and pupils were asked to submit artistic and written compositions in keeping with the theme. Over 6,000 entries were received in the competition, “Get a Taste for Life”, the aims of which were to motivate children to eat a healthy balanced diet, be more adventurous with food and enjoy exercise.
Speaking at the awards ceremony which took place in Dublin Zoo, An Post Head of Business Development & Corporate Affairs Barney Whelan said:
“The huge level of interest in this competition shows that young people are getting the messages about staying in good shape and learning that a healthy, balanced diet and plenty of exercise are of paramount importance.”
