STATEMENT RE: Nicky Kelly mailing in Wicklow Town

An Post Regional Manager – Collection & Delivery, John Brady explained that a full investigation is being carried out into the incident and it appears that the Postperson involved stapled the items together in order to speed up deliveries: “On behalf of An Post, I apologise unreservedly to Cllr Nicky Kelly and to the customers affected.  This should not have happened and we have taken steps to ensure that it does not happen again,” he said.

Over the past three weeks, An Post has delivered more than 21 million items of election mail, in addition to more than three million ‘regular’ mail items, each working day.
