Scouting Around for a Postage Stamp

Designed by Irish artist, Finbarr O’Connor, two 41c stamps show the key activities of camping and campfire entertainment while two 57c stamps illustrate outdoor adventure and the physically challenging aspects of Scouting.
The Scout Association of Ireland was founded in 1908. In 1927 Scouting Ireland CSI, formerly known as the Catholic Boy Scouts of Ireland, was founded by Fr . Tom Farrell and his brother Ernest. The Association now has a membership of 30,000 in over 400 parishes throughout the island of Ireland.
In its 75 years, it is estimated that 350,000 young people and adults have been members of Scouting units.
